A retired hospital cleaner is celebrating after winning the jackpot at her local bingo hall.
62 year old Joyce Martin, of Trinity Way, Keswick, won an amazing £23,600 after matching 43 numbers in her regular Wednesday night bingo game.
Along with her husband, David, she visits the Penrith Opera Bingo hall once a week and was delighted with her unexpected winnings.
Joyce said: “I go once a week because I just enjoy a game of bingo and it’s a good night out. But it’s the first time I’ve had such a big win.”
For Joyce though, the enormity of her win still hadn’t sunk in.
“I felt excited when I realised I’d won, and my husband was pleased as well, but I still can’t believe it,” she said.
