Online Bingo Growth Means Bigger Prizes

The ‘Bingo in the Digital Age: Global Market Assessment and Forecasts’ study, released by the media analyst Screen, suggests that despite the global economic downturn online bingo may be the fastest growing sector of gambling.

Some of this increase may be attributed to the closure of some physical bingo halls in the UK. In addition, high taxation and anti-smoking laws could also have contributed to an increase in online bingo players.

In the UK alone, online bingo sites made more than £220 million in 2008. It is expected that in 2013 the online bingo market will generate £500.

The boom in online bingo will see more retail and media brands enter the market. At the moment only about 5% of the online bingo sites are retail brands while the rest are gambling focused businesses. This is expected to increase to 13% by 2010.

The growth of online bingo can only be good for bingo players. More sites means more choice, and bingo rooms will have to offer better services, promotions and jackpots to entice you to play.
